judging - process

There are two different judging procedures. The first procedure is for the following awards: Best Developer, Best Boutique Developer, Best International Agent, Best Thailand Agent, Best Architect, Best Interior Designer, Best Agent Website, Best Development Website and Best Print Advertisement.

Procedure One

A team of anonymous judges, sourced from the real estate industry nationwide, will judge on the above awards. No single judge will judge on all awards, there will be no meeting of judges, and judges will be selected for awards where there is no conflict of interest. For example: An agent who exclusively represents a specific project or developer will not be allowed to judge on the Best Developer and Best Boutique Developer awards. And a developer will not judge on the Best Architect award if they had used that architect in a recent project of theirs, and so on.

Each award will be judged against 5 criteria, each criteria carrying a maximum of 10 points, where 10 is the highest score.

All score sheets will be sent by the judges direct to a representative at BDO Richfield Advisory Limited, not to the organiser. BDO Richfield Advisory Limited will sort and calculate the scores of each entry. The total number of points allocated to each entry will be divided by the number of judges who scored that entry, to get the final score. The highest score in the category will win the award. In the case of a points tie, winners will be jointly-awarded.

BDO Richfield Advisory Limited will inform the organisers of the scores and winners. The top 5 in each category may be announced publicly in advance of the awards gala dinner. The winners will be announced at the gala dinner on 1st November at Conrad Hotel, Bangkok.

No list of entrants, entry information or scores will be publicly announced.

A face-to-face meeting with project senior executives and a site inspection will be undertaken, after which the judges will meet privately to discuss the merits of each development, with a representative of BDO Richfield Advisory Limited present. After all short-listed entrants have been visited, the judges will together decide upon the winner and submit to a representative of BDO Richfield Advisory Limited. There will be separate teams for judging in Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Samui and Hua Hin, and the judges are encouraged to use local knowledge as well as information from the site visit and entry form in their decision-making.
